About Climate House Ireland
Climate House Ireland will be a unique global destination in the heart of the country. It will bring together nature, innovation and community in one inspiring place dedicated to tackling climate change, restoring biodiversity and designing more sustainable futures.
Visitors will experience three interconnected elements:
Encounter Experience
An immersive journey through storytelling and living landscapes. From an equatorial rainforest atrium to themed Storytelling Spheres, visitors will leave inspired to act for the planet.
Futures Hub
A space for changemakers to meet, collaborate and share solutions. From community groups and businesses to international experts, the hub will be a home for ideas that lead to real action.
Outdoor Regenerative Park
A restored landscape of wetlands, woodland and meadows with boardwalks, gardens and art trails. Visitors can explore nature, take part in citizen science and see how healthy ecosystems support life.
Why It Matters
Climate change and biodiversity loss are global challenges, but solutions begin locally. Climate House Ireland will be a place where everyone can learn, connect and take action. Positioned in Ireland’s midlands, a place shaped by the interaction between people and the unique natural landscape, Climate House Ireland will lead by example, showing how a small nation can take big steps, and how local action can inspire global impact.
We aim to:
Immerse and inspire visitors with the beauty and importance of nature through playful storytelling and hands-on learning
Showcase sustainable design and innovation
Accelerate change, creating a tipping point for communities and businesses as they embrace new approaches and support change makers in their midst
Build capacity to respond to climate and biodiversity challenges and create lasting economic, ecological and social benefits.
The concept for Climate House Ireland has been developed by the Peatlands and People Foundation, supported by the EU LIFE Integrated Project. It will be an example of regenerative design and a hub for knowledge, creativity and hope.
